With god's grace, after a really long wait, my case was approved today (Feb 3, 2002) !!

Here are my details:
RD: 08/00
ND: 09/00
RFE 1 (Birth Certificate + Employment) for me: 03/02
RFE replied: 04/02
RFE 2 (H1 copies + Employment): 11/02
RFE 2 replied: 11/02
FP 1st: 02/01
FP 2nd: 07/02


My wife's case was also approved.

Yes, I had to do a second fingerprint. The date is mentioned in my original post.

The validity of I485 fingerprint is 15 months.
