I have got a big problem. My wife\'s I485 case was filed 3 months after my case was filed. So her notice date is different from that of mine. My I - 485 got approved a month back and I am planning to change the job. What will be the impact of that on my my wife\'s I 485 application. She got her finger printing done recently. Her case is also being handled by present company lawyer. Do I have to transfer the file to new lawyer ? What happens if INS sends any RFE ? What are all the possible problems if I change the present job? I am getting laid off now. I have to find a new job. COuld somebody help me please ??

Hi immi_tiger,
I am not able to answer your question, but want to get some some answers from you.
You have written, your I-485 was filed first, 3months later you filed your wife\'s. I have a few questions, to clarify my sitaution.
My situation is, I am married at the time of filing myI-485. Mine was filed in April. I will be filing my spose\'s in June/July.
Were you in the same sitation?? Did you face any problems when you filed your wife\'s?? Did you call INS to check whether your\'s & your wife\'s application are linked up??
Wil greatly appreciate your answers. Wish you good luck.

Guys

When I-485 is pending for main applicant and as long as it is not approved. one can add the spouse\'s name to the application. Even when the spouse;s application is addes later, it considered one file. So when the approval comes , it will come for both or none. So i am not sure how the main applicant got the approval and spouse did not.

Please call up CSC and ask them the reason. If the I-485 forms are filled up correctly for spouse, INS will link up the two 485\'s, in spouse\'s case one has to mention the A# of the main applicant.
