Hi All,

Finally got the green card approval for me and my wife.
Vermont. EB2.

The approval was unexpected, but good since i did not renew my ead which was expiring on feb 12. [oops] All is well now anyway.
The stamping was no issue. Done in harford.

Tried to get in on dec 30th. The following happend on 30th. went there at 7.30 in the morning, but there was a long queue. And after the gates opened at 8 am and a security check that followed - reached counter at 8.40. they said they give tickets for passport stamp and I-89 only till 8.30. So turned back. On top of that passport is expiring in jun 2004 [5 months from today] and plan to go to NY next week to get it renewed which is a one day affair if i reach there before 11 am.

Anyways, came back on dec 31 (today) at 5.00 a.m. there were 10 people waiting in the freezing cold ahead of me. gates opened at 8 am. felt my toes and fingers come alive at 8.01 once inside. got token at 8.04 and then was 4th in line for PP stamps for 485 applications. called us at 8.30. gave the passport, eads, parole papers, and 485 reciept. they for some reason wanted both the original and the copy as well. gave that and they pointed to a notice that said - exceptionally long wait times due to new law for security clearance. we thought they meant they would take our passports and send it to us some other day. but they said it would be returned today itself. and waited till 9.30 and got it back. stamped for one year :)

So for all those stamping in hartford, just make sure of the following. Go early, be warm, and good luck to all.

GC stamping

While I am waiting for my turn, I had a question for you guys.
When you get the approval notice does it say when you need to go for stamping, or you can go at your earliest convenience?

Thanks

go anytime actually

gujdho -

It is said somewhere [not in the approval notice] that you need to go within a month of the approval [ my lawyer said so].

However, to answer your question :
No. There is no time/date like the fingerprinting notice says. You can go anytime and during the hours specified [the local ins office hrs are specified in the document]. I read somewhere in the forum that you can get it stamped in any INS office.

hope this helps you

Congrats on your approval. How did you resolve the FP3 error. Of course, your FP2 was still valid and hence the error. Did you call BCIS about the error, did they inform you or did you just not show up for the FP at all?

Thanks!

did not go at all

lawyer informed me that I did not have to go. So did not. It mustave just been a mistake since the approval is tied to the FP ... isnt it?

now you got me thinking. maybe i will call them up and find out if I need to go.
