Approved Alternate Survey for Prevailing Wages

Does anyone have a list of approved alternate surveys that could be used for prevailing wages in New York.

The SWA prevailing wage looks too high. 106K for an Engineering Manager.

I am also on the lookout for alternate surveys in California. I dont know where these people get the prevailing wage from. Prevailing wage for level I civil engineers in my area (cheaper area) in California is 59K. Is there any way that these ridiculous wages can be challenged. Even govt. agencies who hire similar positions come nowhere close to paying prevailing wages.

I called up the US DOL office and left a message at the Office of Compensation Levels & Trends. To my surprise i got a call back from them, to ask what my question was. I told the guy i want to check what companies they surveyed becasue the prevailing wage was not where close to reality. HE polietly told me that it was confidential information that the cannot disclose. Looks like i am at the mercy of the prevailing wage officer. If they assign me to a level III wage ( MS+0 yrs, job in zone 4) i may as well pack my bags. :( :mad:

I think a MS+0 zone 4 job should be at level II. Do you requir any "special skills"? How long have you been waiting for the PW?

The request for pervailing wage determination was filed on Apr 12th in CA.
I am still waiting for the PW, the company finally got the PIN to get registered after about 3 weeks. I am desprately hoping that they do not assign anything higher than a level II wage. If they do, i am screwed as i cannot find any alternate survey.
