Hi Guys,
Today was the day, I just got back and it all went well...
Appointment was for 9:30am... I got there at 9:15, went and gave the woman my appointment letter. About 10 minutes later, I was called together with another 10-15 couples, to go up to the 2nd floor. Where I waited another hour. At 10:30 I was called by an officer (if you can call them that, I was sure they would look like the ones you see in airports, but these ones are dressed in plain clothes and kinda calmed me down...) I entered his room he asked for my Tax forms, I said I sent it in already but have copies if he wants... then asked for my passport and drivers license (which I had only Canadian) asked when we got married, what my address is and then wrote some stuff on my passport, and said I can pick it up downstairs in about 15 minutes.... and that was it. They stamped on the spot. Was in with him for 2-3 minutes... not more.
A few interesting things I noticed, seems like interview times are not exact, meaning they want you to come in around then, if I would be late by an hour or two didn't seem like it would matter.
Lots of people brought their kids, myself included... (I think having a kid might be the reason he asked me no other questions)
Some officers look like they are out to get you, others seemed very nice.
That's about it.
A couple Questions:
I got a two year green card, is the renewal a big deal after that? and does it require another meeting in person?
Also re employment, do I need to reapply every year? says in my passport that it's valid for one year from this date, what happens then?
Thanks and good luck to you all!
