Approvals seem to have dried up

The 485 approvals have dried up in the past couple of days. I thought that VSC was on a roll and we were about to be blessed !

I don't think so

I think they are approving the cases but people who go their cases approved are not familiar to this forum. I am tracking EAC-02-174-5XXXX series on a daily basis and I saw one RFE Received status was approved yesterday. But, it was not updated yesterday. Hope next will be mine in that line!!

Poll for FP dates ?

Do you think we should poll this forum for FP Dates (only for people waiting approval)

e.g.

1st FP 08/02 - Next FP Date = 11/2003
1st FP 09/02 - Next FP Date = 12/2003
1st FP 10/02 - Next FP Date = 01/2004
1st FP 11/02 - Next FP Date = 02/2004
1st FP 12/02 - Next FP Date = 03/2004
1st FP 01/03 - Next FP Date = 04/2004

This will maybe give us and idea of approval theory based on FP2 and also we can track people who would need FP2 done

if so can someone set this up ? i do not know how to do this.

Thanks

Sorry for saying this friend!!! There was never any water for us to say that it had dried up!!!

We do not have any idea about their processing behaviour, processing guidelines (still 2001ers are waiting where as some of 2002ers are getting approval) etc., FP theories, pipeline theories are interesting to listen to but add no value to individual cases. IMHO there is no way we are going to see any improve ment unless they have sweeping changes both in the methodlogy and also the manpower.

Just my 2c

Hope, Patience and Fight is the name of the game for those in the GC queue. So be hopeful, be patient and join the efforts of those who are trying to fight this. Of late, we aren't doing anything, partly due to holiday season. I am facing too many hurdles(technical and also logistical) in my efforts to start fund collection for our cause. We (core team) are having a conference call with Rajiv Khanna on the coming Sunday to resolve this issue.

I understand that dsatish. But is very difficult to implement that. The fact that there is just no respect to the immigrant community and treating them like dogs is really hurting the immigrant community both careerwide and mentally. We pay heavy taxes man and we are atleast entitle to a timely response!!!!!

In any case when the core team talks with rajiv khanna (he is like our saviour here) can you guys also raise the issue of the possibility of getting valid responses to status inquires?????

Thanks

Yes, i agree that our biggest complaint against BCIS is its attitude of 'Not Answerable' to any one. They are not even answering properly to the congress men and Senators. They give the same "you wil hear something in 60 to 90 days" answer to them. Unfortunately these congress men and Senators are accepting that BS from BCIS. They should instead question BCIS why they are not giving exact answer. If BCIS says that they have resource problems, these congress men should talk to BCIS director or Tom Ridge to allott more resources for I485 line. Unfortunately these things are not happening because we don't have any voting rights and nobody cares about us (unlike illegals who are pampered for thier hispanic votes). The only we can reach out to these politicians and the BCIS director, is by forming a strong organisation and having some one work for our cause. That's where the funds come into picture. I am working on the fund collection issue.

ramss, sorry to interfere but I have a dog back in my country and he is with my parents right now. We really really treat him well. I don't think immigrant community are treated like dogs. They are treated worst

i agree with dukhiman. Let us not insult dogs by comparing us with them :(

I think BCIS is also getting the same answer from Tom Ridge and Tom Ridge from Bush

"You will hear from me in 60 to 90 days ..." :)

Friday guys, relax, enjoy the weekend. Hell with this GC process.

Good one!

It's surprising that we legal immigrants as a community are far better educated and more civil and law-abiding than most citizens of this country but are treated like sh** just because we are not citizens. I understand that many of us are afraid to rile the BCIS because of our own insecurities and our false notions that we might see some retribution. I cannot fault anyone for that. However, we should all take an oath that we won't let this matter drop once we become permanent residents and citizens of this country. The problem I have is with the rest of the community that went from being immigrants to citizens now but care less about the misfortune of others in the line. This cavalier attitude is what perpetuates the chain of BCIS irresponsibility and inaction. Once we are out of the woodwork, we should take this up with community leaders, media etc. Create a blitzkrieg of publicity for the plight of many of our scientists, professors, engineers etc who are the very reason this country has and will do well in the future. Equating us to some dopey flight school graduate turned bin Laden follower in the name of security is a total sham. Remember the time IRS had to answer to the Senate sub-committe? We should create a climate where that can happen with the BCIS. Any takers?
