I'm picking this off posts in the following thread: http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=257228
Quite apart from anybody's anger etc. -- there is a simple need to document exactly what USCIS did in the last 3 weeks of June and on the single day of July 1. USCIS has suggested in various news reports that they were surprised by the original July bulletin, and that they had more than enough applications to approve in just the June bulletin.
The fact that they approved many applications based on their being current on July 1 suggests that they did need the original July bulletin -- even if only for a day.
As such it is extremely useful to see if there was (a) just the odd one or two approvals or many (b) whether just ROW benefited from this or all countries.
There is no need to be defensive if you were approved based on being current on that single day -- July 1. All of us have been in the trenches and know that those who had their I-485 applications in with USCIS probably submitted them before Oct 2005 and have been pickling for a good 2 yrs or so -- hardly what I would call a picnic. I have seen the frustration of many of these people all through the last few years and only feel sympathetic towards them.
Trackitt has been extremely useful to understand this phenomenon and I see nothing wrong in compiling a similar list on Immig Portal. People should just check their anger or their defensiveness at the door -- we are all in this together and information is our only weapon.
I reiterate once again that I wish no harm to any of these individuals, indeed it is clear they cannot be denied their approvals once issued. And so extending the list in the spirit of gathering data:
