Approval to biometrics timeframe

Is there a general rule how long does it take after I-485 approval till you get an "invitation" to do the biometrics.
My case is from NSC.

I recommend to you to go and take the biometric. My lawyer said the same, do not go, i did go and after that immediately they order my GC.

Does anybody know if what she told me is correct? Should I still go in for fingerprinting? IT'S ALL SO CONFUSING.

I have the same notice as you (i.e. code 2). But I am going for it. I am not taking any chance. Also I would advice you to go on your scheduled date. I have seen in different thread their card is being ordered on the same day of FP.

Once you have your GC in your hand you are free from tension. So why take chances?

Hey Guys...once 485 case has been approved and PP stamped, all you got left is the physical card, right? After PP stamped, why is there all these mention about FP appt, Biometrics appt etc?? I am confused here!! Isn't all Biometrics related stuff (index FP and Photos) process already completed before 485 has been approved??

My case got approved on 4/1/05; PP stamped the same day...am waiting on welcome letter and physical card!! Am I missing something here??

Lately, USCIS has implemented a new rule that they will send notification to all the newly approved PR to come to ASC for Code 2 biometrics (Photo, Index FP & signature) rather than stamping on the PP. So after our approval we received notification to get to ASC to complete the formalities. I do not know the status of the approvals whose stamping was done before the new process. If USCIS will feel that they do not have your current photos, FP or signature they will call you through notice. Our card was ordered the same day we had our appointment. Do not get panic you will hear from them very soon.
