Approval Notices taken by local INS.

I recently got my GC approved. The lady at the local INS office has taken our Approval Notices and stamped our passport. Somehow, I did not xerox the original approval notices. Now all I have is a stamp on my passport.

Do I need the I-485 Approval notices ? I am a little nervous as i should have made copies.. Please clarify

You are fine. You will probably get one from your attorney also, but all that matters is the Stamp in your passport.
You could also check your online status and print out that page just for your records.

I called my lawer too - they did not receive any copies it seems. Anyway, there is not much I can do now.

I will call INS and ask them to send me a copy. I will post the result here after I get the response from them.

The approval notice does not have much value as long as you have the 551 stamp in your passport. but if you still desire call the uscis 800 number and request another approval notice!
