Hi guys,
I got my approval letter yesterday in mail after four days from the Email's date. but here is the question:

LETTER:
The above application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing. Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date, time and location to appear.
If you have not received your permanent resident card or the aboce mentioned notice to appear for biometrics processing within 90 days, please call this office at the number listed below.

1)Do you think I have to do BIO?
2)Since I am approved it means I am a permamnt resident? so when I travel around out of the US, the time I am coming back I have to stand in Permant residents line? or the regular one I have been standing all the time?
3) My passport is not valid anymore(expired), can I ask them to stamp my RTD?
4) For I-130 can I just send them the copy of the approval letter?

thanks,

1. Maybe. Sorry.
2. Yes, but you need the plastic as proof. I dont think you can show the approval letter at the port of entry
3. I dont think they will stamp your RTD with the PR stamp (but I've been wrong before :))
4. Yes

I wish you a lightning-fast I-130.

thanks,

1) have you done bio? PIcture and one fingerprint? If yes then you wont need it again. This letter is generic so that it covers all ,those with bio and those without bio done.

2)You are a PR but you still need a proof. You can go to your local office and get a temporary PR with a picture that shows your status. They can give you that until you wait for your GC.

3)When you enter the U.S, you don't need to askt hem anything. Your status is upated in the computer so they will process you accordingly. If you don't have a TEMP GC or a GC, they will have to send you to next room for processing..they will do their job, you cant expect to tell them what to do :)

4) Again read the instructions. I think temp PR or approval is also ok.

Thanks,
Temp. GC is a good Idea,
I did Bio but if it can expire, mine has been expired for two months after 15 months.
Lets see if they will send me anything or not, in meanwhile I may go to Local and get Temp. GC.

We all have been in temp. status for long time so I have kind of used to this status.

Thanks

Nasrmobin, I received my approval letter through US mail after 4 days from the E-mail notification. It's exactly the same like yours.
I did my BIO on July 2005 when they took my photo, index print & electronic signature for GC production. Now I don't think I have to do that again & it's not even a year that I did it so no way it could be even expired or things in that nature. They also mailed my RFE which was the original birth certificate that I submitted as a RFE on 6TH of this month. In the RFE letter they mentioned they'll return those originals upon approval & that's exactly what they did. Now next thing for me hopefully is the Welcome notice & GC. Lot of times both shows up at the same time or welcome notice first than GC. Don't worry yours seem the same & you'll receive GC by this week or worst next week.
Atique.

nasrmobin:

I have seen cases in which individuals were approved, but their plastic card was delayed because they had to do the BIO. Later they were informed of their date and time of doing the BIO. Upon doing the BIO, their plastic greencard was sent to them which was backdated from the time of the approval, not the time of doing the BIO. Therefore, I don't know whether you will do the BIO or not, but you are pernanent resident as per the approval letter.

First congrats to your PR !

I think the first thing you should do now is to call 800 saying you were approved and requiring Bio. They will take note and then you will get mail for Bio. Like Jubilee said I also saw people walked out of ASC with GC in hand after Bio done ! You just need to make sure it is proper backdated.

Thank you all for your generous answers.
I will wait a little bit more, see if they will do anything or not. I am traveling to Thialand for march 17th, so since I dont like to wait in that line which always makes me crazy but at the same time you have the chance to hang-out with those nice people, so I rather to be in PR line and I may go ahead and setup the Infopass and go to local INS and get temporary GC or ask them to stamp my forehead.
Since I am not sure that either I have done my BIO or not, I wont call those people for anything except ask them where is my GC.
Again, thanks for your all in-puts which give me the knowladge to deal with this people and understand more of it.

Nas
