Approval Freeze for NSEERs countries: Help Needed

Registered Users (C)
BCIS received my I765 application for and EAD on 12/4 (120 days ago). They still haven’t adjudicated my application. I believe it is because I am from a country impacted by NSEERS (Bangladesh). My guess is that they will delay any type of applications from these countries or will ask for proof of registration (kind of beats the point since the information from the Special Registration was supposed to go to a database to make the country safer, but that’s another discussion). I’d like to hear any advice on how to find out what’s happening.

I’ve tried calling the NSC hotline so many times, but I always get a busy signal. Maybe it’s just my bad luck. Are there any other avenues to explore? The BCIS webpage has a bunch of information, but I couldn’t find anything about making inquiries in writing. I have a interim EAD valid until June 4th that will have to be renewed every 90 days. My concern is BCIS may decide they will no longer perform this service.

Details of my case are as follows:

I485 RD: 12/18/01
I485 ND 12/26/01
FP: 4/2002
I765 and AP RD: 12/4/02

Does anyone have experience in this matter? I’d be open to suggestions.
Thanks,
sadiq

Sadiq I know it must be very frustrating for you.
It is difficult to get through to the BCIS phone but you have to keep redialing and be patient.I normally am able to get through in 5 to 7 mins. In fact I just talked to an IIO today regarding my EAD renewal (RD 01/23/03). I was told it will take a few more weeks.
Your file must have been misplaced or something else.It is important for you to talk to an IIO.
If it is any consolation, a friend of mine from Pakistan recently got an EAD in mid march with his EAD RD being in 12/02 .
I also inquired from my attorney if there was a freeze for SR nationals but they state that they are getting approvals for their clients.
