Approval email today, July 2002 case

Hi Friends,

Checked my email and had 4 emails from USCIS and the case is approved :)

Also check the voice mail system and it says the case was approved on 16th June.

I was thinking of contacting USCIS to check the status of my FP2 since more than two months had passed.

I had almost straight forward case. Did not change company but my company got bought over and the new company said they do not do GCs so they will not continue the old cases also. Previous company had signed a contract for GC processing but it did not help much.

Eventually the new company agreed to honour the old contracts but by then I had went ahead with 485 with another lawyer. Our Paralegal person was great support through all this crap I had to endure.

Best of luck to all and hope the backlog gets reduced fast.

I guess it was about time July 2002 also starts seeing some approvals. Also high time VSC finally moved processing date by a few months.
VSC seems to be picking up speed, maybe due to litigation(Thanks to Mr. Khana and others)? Hope it continues..

I wonder if my paper filing of Wife's EAD on June 4th(RD) triggered the approval.
I had filed my EAD before but waited some more time before filing wife's EAD. I thought maybe different times of applying/sending information to VSC might help as atleast something will trigger VSC.
So I sent my kids RFE(BC) papers about 3 weeks after I did my FP2. I would have preferred to send mine too after doing FP but wasn't sure if my company changes tack again.
Waited some more time and then sent Wife's EAD.
Still had not applied for AP(Expires in September) and was thinking of sending them on July..
Not sure if staggered strategy of sending information to VSC(pinging VSC as I see it) helps any but I thought I will put out my action plan here.

Congratulations. Did the Last Update Date change after you did your FP2? If yes, when did it change?

Nope, there was no change. Last updated date showed 4/9/2004 (my FP2 date) till yesterday.
For my wife, it showed previous dates - 12/xx/2003
However when I had replied to RFE, the date had changed. The dates for my kids RFE(Last updated changed to 4/28/2004) also changed.
