approval and one question regarding passport stamping

My case was finally approved on 12/21/01. I heard this from AVM on 12/22/01
and the paper notice arrived last week when I was on vacation. RD 3/16/01, FP 10/3/01(scheduled 10/19/01).

Does anyone know if INS san francisco office is open on 12/31?
