Approval and EB status - any relationship?

Does AoS processing depend upon the EB status? The I-485 processing date April 16, 2001 applies to only EB3 cases?
Does EB1/ EB2 processing date may be different than the one posted on the USCIS website?

Thanks

As far as I know the category for EB comes into play only at the 140 stage. Beyond the 140, it's clubbed together as AOS for EB applications.

The processing dates published by the service center are only indicative of the earliest date from which they have unprocessed applications. Any date after that is fair game (I've seen august and september 2002 approvals from VT here and on Rupnet, even though their official processing date is january 2002).

The USCIS (then INS) used to have different cut off dates for I-485 acceptance based on EB category. (Due to limitation of total number of available spots for adjustments)
For example EB2s were processed faster than EB3s because fewer applicants had applied for the EB2 category.
Don’t you think same criteria is still being applied for processing? If you see August/Sept 2001 approvals usually they are Eb2 not EB3s
