Appplying for a job on L2 EAD

I have my EAD on L2 and I have started applying for a job. Do I have to go through an employer for getting a job or can I be apply directly without any employer.

I was told that when we apply for Green card also we get an EAD after labour stage. Is the EAD I have on L2 same as that or do I have to start from the 1st stage i,e; labour stage to apply for Green card?

1. You can be directly employed to the company you want to work with

2. Shold follow the standard GC process. This EAD is different then one can get after I-140 and I-485 filing
