Appointment for AP in Fed Plaza , NY ?

I applied 3 mnths back and got a letter asking me to
appear in person for Adv Parole..
just wondering why it was not mailed directly..and why
are they asking me to come in person....
anyone experiencing the same thing ?

We had a leeter too -- to come to NYC -- it is very simple -- especially if we go on the appointment date. I had to go little earlier than called date since I was going to be out of state on the date they had given. So I stood for 2 hours in the other line (non appointments) and once inside got the papers in hand within 30 min.
Hope this helps. I wondered too why they didn\'t simply send the papers rather than calling? I did AP myself and that may be the reason? no idea.
