Applying N400 -- Question about petty theft -- Please Help

I am applying for N400 and need direction.

I was involved in 2 petty theft cases(Year 2002 and 2006) (less than $50), got arrested, paid fines/probation and both cases got expunged. I paid lot of mental piece for years for these thefts.

please tell me if i need to answer yes/no in the formN400 for the above cases.
what would be the impact on my citizenship.

Of course you need to answer then you need to check out on these facts

(1) Add maximum sentence of two offenses and see if the sum exceed one year

(2) 2002 offense is outside 5 year period but 2006 offense is. Check out teh condition of invodling petty theft excpetion rule to see if you can use it.
