We applied the laber cert back in Oct 2003. Finally got approved last week - Sep 30, 2006. 
Lawyer says we can apply I-140 now and it should take approx 3 months to get it approved. She also says because there are no visa available at this point, I'd have to wait between 1 year to 1.5 year before I can apply for I-485. I read that many apply the two together. This means, once I get my I-140, I'd have to wait around another year or so before I do anything...
She says that they are processing the applicants from May 2002 right now. Does this mean when the date is after Oct 2003 (my application date), then I can finally apply for I-485?
Also, what is priority date? Is that the date you first submitted? (mine was oct 2003)
