Applying for wife's green card

After speaking with an attorney and with some encouragement on this site we have decided to do this process ourselves. A couple of questions. She is here legally on a b1/b2 visa so we will be filing the i-130 and the 1-485 at the same time. I am using my sister as a co sponsor. She files taxes jointly with her husband. Her income is enough by itself. Does he need to file anything because he is on her joint tax returns? I guess I was wondering if they need to do an i864a because he is also on the returns. I know I, as the petitioner have to file an i-864, my sister does, but does her husband need to do anything? Also since we are filing the i-130 and the i-485 at the same time do we file the i-864s at the same time? I think we do but am not sure.
