Applying for visa after ten year ban

Heres an overview of my story

I obtained a visitors visa in 1997 when I was 9, visited the US and returned in a month. In 1999 I travelled back to the US at 11 years old, my parents proceeded to stay for 6 years illegally, and I as a child, stayed with them. In August 2005, at 17 year s old I voluntarily left the U.S. and returned home. I never wanted to live in the U.S. and moved away as soon as I was old enough to.I wish to return for a visit now as my best friend is getting married in California. It has been almost ten years since my return home.I have a solid job at a bank, I have been working there 6.75 years, I also have an empty lot as property which I plan to build on soon and that is mortgaged to my bank so they can see that I will return.I am planning to schedule my appointment at the end of this month, can someone please give me some advice on this? I really appreciate it !

You shouldn't have a ban anyway. The ban you are talking about is the 9b ban, but you do not accrue unlawful presence for the purposes of the 9b ban while under the age of 18.

(Plus, even if you had a ban and you needed to visit the U.S. before it ends, the process of applying for a waiver is automatic as part of the process of applying for a nonimmigrant visa, and you wouldn't do anything different.)

But it may not be easy for you to get a tourist visa because of your history of staying in the U.S. for long periods, which could make it harder for you to convince them that you don't have immigrant intent.

Hi, thanks for your reply, I wasn't sure if I should be penalized for my overstay when I had no choice in the matter. As a child I wasn’t exactly aware of what my status was there, I was 14 when I realized I was there illegally and I hated that very much. When I turned 17 I was able to convince my parents to allow me to travel back home and live with my aunt so I could have a good chance at attending college, get a good job etc. as I wouldn’t be able to in the States. I’ve been able to put my life together in that time, I’m 27 and very stable now. I never tried going back because I had no reason to.

I’ve heard different answers to this, and locally all my friends who have visas say they won’t give me a second glance because I have a stable job at the bank and have invested in property. They may not even ask if I have ever overstayed my visit to the U.S. before...if they ask, I will answer truthfully, but if they don’t I will keep my mouth closed.

Do you know if that is a standard question?

Thanks again.

I've been in New York 5 times. Each time I stay up to 80-85 days (less than 90 days).

I always have my ESTA visa.

4th time: my arrival July 22nd - departure October 5th - I had to "overstay " by 25 days (in total 115 days) , I had too much luggage and had to book a New Ticket to Sweden.
I found one ticket for a decent price October 30th, but that ticket got cancelled because of Sandy so they gave me a new ticket for November 2nd.

I came back January 11th 2013, and I had to go through inspection, I don't remember too much. I ended up at the hospital as soon I arrived at the airport (JFK). I almost bled to death, I passed out etc.

I came back from New York 2014 October 11th so I have a ten year bar. Obviously!!

What happens now? (I mean after the bar)

Take care
