I have recently got my citizenship and I want to apply for my parents...I have a few questions and would appreciate if somebody could help me out...

1: If my parents are not living in the USA then does the process take longer then it would if they were living in the States? If yes then about how much longer does it take?
2: If my parents are living with me and there application in under process, then are they eligable to work till they get there green card?
3: Do I have to show a certain amount of income inorder to sponser my parents? If yes then how much do I have to be making inorder to sponser them?

PLease if somebody have any information to these question then do let me know, thanks in advance:)

My understanding is that the whole process takes about a year (a little less, a little more) if everything goes smoothly. Consular processing might take a little longer. It really depends on a lot of things.

Yes, you could send I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, with the package, and they'll get their work permits before they are scheduled for the interview.

Yes. Look here for the amount of income that you should have in order to be able to sponsor them: http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864p.pdf.
Note that the sponsor's household size number should include everyone in your househould (including you) + the number of people you're sponsoring.
FYI: there is detailed information about it on form I-864, or you can read about it here: http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/affsupp.htm.
Good luck!

There are many people in this forum with the same question, you can make a search and will find many answers.
First thing to do is go to www.uscis.gov and read the part of "How do I.." Frequently Ask Questions. And select Family or the part of "How to bring my parents to live in the US". Go through the different links.
The timeline varies inside the US (by adjustment of status) because depend in your USCIS district office. Outside the US (Consular Processing) it's in the consulate near your parents and the National Visa Center.

If your parents go through Adjustment of Status (within the US) then they can apply along with the other forms for work authorization. If your parent go through CP (Consular Processing) there is no work authorization because they should be outside the US until they have their permanent visa.

Good luck,

if the consular processing is chosen to sponsor parent abroad, can they travel to the US after the petition is filed? what visa can they travel to the us (like visitor multiple visa???)
thanks
