Hi

I am eligible to apply for my US citizenship in October 2014. I am planning to go to India and get married this Jan-Feb 2014.

What should be the best option for me and the fastest way to bring her here?
1. Apply for my citizenship and her green card together in Oct 2014 or K1 visa. If this is possible how long might it take in average for it to get approved for her?
2. Apply for her Green card as soon as I am married. How long it might take in average for it get to approved?
3. Apply for my citizenship first in Oct 2014. Once I become citizen in probably March 2015, apply for her green card or K1 visa?

Thanks

Dev

1. You cannot petition for a fiance visa until you are a citizen. So you need to wait for you to become a citizen first, and then petition for K1. So this is the same as (3)
2. It's hard to say. There is a wait for the priority date to become current in the F2A (spouse and underage children of permanent resident) category. The wait is becoming longer because it was current in August and September and is now moving to a more normal wait, so no one can say how long it will be. But you can always file it first and if it's still waiting when you become a citizen, it can be upgraded to the Immediate Relative category which has no wait. So there is no harm in applying now; it will be no worse than option (3) green card.
3. Sure. Note that it's not "green card or K1". You can only petition for K1 if you guys are not married; you can only petition for a spouse if you're married. So it cannot be a K1 unless you plan on holding off on getting married until 2015.

I would say go for (2).
