Applying for I140/485 simoultaneously

Hi Gurus,

Can anyone tell me, if I need a current H1B valid visa stamping in passport while applying for I140/485 together? Or simple approved valid I-797 is Ok?

Urgent ... I need to decide on going to Canada for stamping or not.

Please put some light if u know someone who applied I140/485 simultaneously with expired stamping on passport but with valid I 797.

I filed I140/485 concurrently with expired stamping on passport, valid I-797.
