Applying for H1 for the First Time in Canada

Hi, I have an H1B visa interview scheduled in Canada soon. This is my first time, and I have some questions. I found this forum to be very useful and I'd really appreciate if someone can answer my questions.

Here's my background:
- Came to the US on F1, did OPT, and now H1.
- Currently working for a prestigious and well-known organization

Questions:

- What are the chances for the first-time applications for H1 in Canada?

- In case the visa does not get approved, can I come back to the US ? My F1 visa is valid until July 06, and the date on I-94 is until 7/09. BUT, my OPT expires the DAY of my visa interview.

Please answer my questions.

Thank you!

The Answer is 'NO'. You are not a student anymore and cannot use F-1 to re-enter US.

In addition, you can NOT use automatic visa re-validation. It only works if you DO NOT apply for a visa in Canada.

"I'll be going to Ottawa on May 1st for my first H1B visa application."

Thanks, Coolmaro!

What are the options left to people if their visa gets rejected? Go back to India and apply there? I have heard about an "emergency" scheduling of visa interviews in India. Can anyone educate me on this?

Thank you
