Applying for GC for wife in Canda while on GC myself

Me and my wife are indian citizens. I have GC but not yet eligible for citizenship. My wife is canadian resident. Should I apply for her GC while she is looking for jobs in US which may sponsor H1B? Or I wait till end of the year when I become eligible to apply for citizenship? Any issues with her coming to US on visitor visa in the meanwhile?

Responses are very much appreciated.

Because she is married to a GC holder, she will probably be refused a tourist visa.

If she already has a tourist visa, she may be able to use it if they don't realize she's married to a GC holder, but once you file the I-130 USCIS will know about your marriage to her.

Or I wait till end of the year when I become eligible to apply for citizenship?
End of which year? 2011 or 2012?

Thanks for the reply. I am eligible for citizenship end of year 2012. I am debating if I should apply for her GC now which is unlikely to move anywhere in 1 year but convert it to finacee visa once I process my citizenship. Or do I wait and file for fiancee visa once I get citizenship.

My wife already has tourist visa. Does she need to declare that she is married even if she is not asked?

When applying for the tourist visa, she had to disclose if she had a spouse or fiance in the US; the visa application form specifically asked for that information.

But after she gets the visa, she is not required to disclose that fact unless asked. However, what she says or does can prompt them to ask -- for example, suppose the two of you enter the US on the same flight or drive across the border in the same car. Or she enters the US with a one-way plane ticket.

Or do I wait and file for fiancee visa once I get citizenship.
You can't file for a fiancee visa when you're married. But you can file I-130 to initiate the process leading to an immigrant visa. If you want her to visit before you're a citizen, it's better if you delay the I-130 filing until after you obtain citizenship, in order to reduce the chances of her being refused entry.
