Hi all,

Can I apply online for EAD at local office? How do they get copies of the required documents and pictures?

Thanks,
Spartakus

if your I-485 is pending at local office you may apply on line. the system will ask you where your case is pending and you will notify the local office where the case was transferred to. Make sure you mail supporting documentation. the system will give you the address at the end of your application. make sure you mark in the box you are mailing supporting documentation.you should also mail a copy of your current EAD along with a copy of your initial I-485 receipt and a copy of your transfer notice as evidence you case is pending in the local office. I hope this answer your question.

Hi Andrews

Thanks for the reponse. I did not understand one thing though.
You said: "the system will ask you where your case is pending and you will notify the local office where the case was transferred to." How do you notify them or did u mean you select the local office where the case is at?

One more question please: How do they relate the docs I am sending after I apply online to my online application?

regards,
Spartakus

I am sorry my English confused you! I meant you have to select where your case is pending at. During your application you have to select wether you are sending supporting documentation or not.I have applied twice for EAD on line and the first time I did I did not check to send supporting info.Of course got RFE which also delay issuance of EAD.RFE was : copy of I-485 receipt and copy of last EAD issued .So the second time I applied on line for EAD I knew I had to send them supporting documentation, so I sent copy of I-485, copy of transfer notice and copy of previous EAD. I get my EAD after 90 days without RFE. Remember that after you get your confirmation you have to print several copies and call Customer Service at 800-375-5283 to schedule fingerprint and photo for EAD! I hope I have made myself clear this time. But please let me know if I had not. I will be more than glad to share my experiences with you. Wish you all the best. May God bless us all!

Thanks Andrews

Two more questions please what is the advantage of applying online to mailing the application if in online filing we need to mail the docs anyway? The second question is this new getting pics and finger prints for EAD. I did not need to FPs for my previous EADs and does that mean that we have to get the pics and FPs at the INS local office and not send 2 pics as required?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Spartakus

I think one advantage of an E-filed EAD is that you get your receipt number and receipt date right there and then on-line. (So the 90 day clock would start counting).

The picture and finger print (one finger) are taken at the local INS office. You do not need to mail in photographs. We just applied for our 3rd EAD last week (2nd e-filed one). The entire process at the field office (Atlanta) took about 45 minutes.

Regards

Rav

Thanks all

When I reach the drop dow where it asks for current immigration status, I have no idea what to put there. I am currently on EAD and AOS (I-485 pending)

Any idea?

Thanks,
Spartakus
