Applying for DV Visa but wife is common-law, what are my options?

So I'm applying for the DV Visa, in the event I get selected and interviewed and passed through, is it as simple as getting married and she can come or would I had to get married before applying? We've been together 20 years we just never tied the knot. What would be the easiest method without her applying individually. Thanks
 
Why wouldn’t she apply as well - doesn’t she qualify?

yes, you can get married after selection and she can join you. You should have plenty of evidence of a genuine relationship after 20 years!

Just so I'm clear, if we both apply and she gets in and I don't, does this mean we can get married and then I would automatically qualify?
