Hi,

I need to know after how many years of permanent residency you can apply for the Citizenship.

Thanks,

If you are married to a USC, its three years after you get your GC.
If you got your GC via employment, you have to wait for five years after you get your GC.
Im not sure of others...

Hi,

Suppose I got my GC through sponsership in the year 2001 so is it time for me to apply for citizenshsip. And can someone direct me some documents that provide the complete explanation how to apply for the citizenship.

Thanks,

This is a forum for family based green card through marriage or relative, no citizenship.
Check the link that I sent to you.

When you ready to file for US citizenship, you might visit a separate forum on this board which addresses EVERYTHING about US citizenship. I can bet you that after reading postings over there, you would never need the help of any attorney or any books on immigration laws.

I practiced immigration laws, in addition to matrimonial laws. I'm 29 yrs of age, but I was an aggressive INS prosecuting attorney in the past. I've been around many immigration sites to help people for many years and I only help people on citizenship forum of this site. So, when you were ready to file for US citizenship, you may post your questions over there.

Good Luck.
