I have a few questions about applying for citizenship. I have been in the US since 2001, obtained my green card in 2004, it expires in 2014. I was planning on applying for citizenship before my daughter turns 18 next February but now I'm not sure which road to take.
If I apply and take my oath before she turns 18 does she automatically become a citizen too? And if she does will she get a certificate of naturalization at the ceremony as well or do we have to apply for a Certificate of Citizenship separately? (something we need to get a passport for her)
If we will have to apply for that certificate she will be over the age of 18, so then that option won't be available, she will have to apply for naturalization independently, I am guessing?
