Applying for citizenship but my greencard just got damaged

Dog chewed on my greencard (not kidding) I am about to apply for my greencard. Does anyone know if I need to apply for replacement greencard or evenif I take my damaged greencard with me for the interview that will be fine?

You must the smartest man on this side of the planet, how does a dog get hold of your green card? You are weird or both you and the dog need to invest in some toys.

Do you have a copy of both the front and back of your green card filed somewhere? If not, you will need to apply for a replacement, cost you money and time, but you can file for a replacement. If you don't have the copy of the green card (back N front), then you can't apply for the N400, N400 requires copy of green card (back and front).

If you have another valid ID like DL or passport, and the green card is not damaged beyond recognition, you can bring the damaged GC to the interview and don't need to bother with getting a replacement.

Just make sure to disinfect it with alcohol to remove the pathogenic dog saliva!
