Applying for Canadian PR

I am currently on H1b visa in US on 7th year extension and waiting for my labor. I am getting ready to apply for canadian immigration. I would really really appriciate if anybody here in this form can guide me.

1- Can I send notarized copies of the degrees and certificates, and do they have to be in university sealed envlop. I was reading in the Appendix A of the checklist that they should be in the university sealed envalop. Is this really a requirement?

2- When should I do my fingerprinting, at what stage ?

3-My son is born US citizen, should I apply for his PR also

I would really appriciate a quick response.

It will be good if you apply for your son also, because later on questions may arise like, Where will your son be, if you both are in canada and so on.. I applied for my kid. US born.
