Applying for Australia PR after green card

Hello,

Is there a problem if one applies to gain permanent residency in Australia after one has already attained US green card.

The Australia green card process takes 2 years and by that time I expect to be a US citizen (I have been US green card holder for 4 years).

Will the fact that I applied for Australia permanent residency hurt my citizenship application or hurt my green card? I reside in the US, have ties, job etc. But I might move to Australia later on.

Please advise.

Hello,

I do not understand. US green card requires me to live in the US and have ties to the US.

So is there a problem if the US green card holder wants to move out after obtaining US citizenship? So in this scenario the green card holder wants to live in the US but only until US citizenship. After naturalization the US green card holder might not want to live in the US anymore.

I understand that if I obtain Australian PR and move there than I loose US green card. But if I just lodge an application then it means that in the future I might want to move there and I am showing my intention to do so in the future. But at present I may still be living in the United States.

Can you explain more here?

So is there a law that requires a US green card holder to have intention to live in the US indefinitely like with job change?

Who knows

Do you have to specify in GC process in australia about your US GC Status? How does US know you are applying for australian PR ?
