I have a question about applying for AOS. I am an H-1B holder and my wife is a Green Card holder. She can apply for her citizenship only in 2009 since she was out of the country for a while and only came back to the US in Feb 2005. She has been a resident since 1989 but she did her college in India. and we have heard that u have to be in the US for 4 years continuously to apply for citizenship. The question i have to ask is that is it safe to apply for AOS after she gets her citizenship or can i go ahead and do that right away. What is the difference in processing times for GC vs Citizen.
