Applying for another RTD

So do we need to send an old one if it has already expired? I haven't found anything on I-131 that says that me need to send an old RTD along with an application to get a new one.

If it is already expired, you don't need to send it back. But you do need to explain it.

You have to explain the disposition of your document in one of the items (i.e. attached, lost, etc.)

People have been known to keep their documents and receive a new one, but you do have to note where your old RTD is...I have applied for one four times now and have always sent mine back.

I think a copy of state ID and any evidence of your status. I'm gonna send a copy of judge decision granting my asylum status. I guess will also send a copy of my old RTD so that they can see that it has expired.

because i am confused of what i have to send besides $170 fee.Would you please tell me what you have put in the class of admission part?

Put just "asylee"
 
So if under "disposition" I'll put "expired" and attach a photo copy of my old RTD is it all right?
 
yea ok i guess you will have to attach a copy of your expired one and also you may fill in blank with expired.

Are you applying for RTD the first time?
 
I Always Send Copy Of Expired Rtd

I've had total of 3 rtds, and copy of document always worked okay
(+ explanation on application that it is expired). I never sent original.
 
Just called customer service center. I was transferred to "asylees-refugees specialist" :) Her official answer - if an RTD has expired you shouldn't send it along with your application.
