10 days ago I applied for 3rd EAD for my wife. I went to the hartford, CT office and dropped the application in-person (I was told by the INS office that they no more process EAD renewals at their office and that they will send the application to MSC). Yesterday I recieved my wife's EAD Reciept notice that says that the next step in EAD processing is Biometrics. The notice asks the applicant to call BCIS 1800 number and schedule an appointment for Biometrics.
My question is: Is this a new procedure they are asking to do? Please let me know.
I know for Internet EAD application they need this but not for regular ones (I applied by mail to VSC for mine but did not have to do this).
