Applying Citizenship

I have questions regarding applying Citizenship:

1) Do we really need to provide any income tax proof during the citizenship test/interview? I only worked in Canada for first year and filed tax for 1 time, but then work in U.S. until now and did not file any tax to Canada.

2) Does anyone apply citizenship successfully if he/she was not stayed in Canada within 3 out of 4 years (landed at Canada and come back to U.S. to work)?

3) What is the procedure during the citizenship interview? Is it only giving the " written test" or any other verbal question?

Thanks!

You definetly have to stay in Canada. I dont think there is any flexibility in this matter.

Raj4usa will confirm this.

If one has not lived in Canada for 3 years, one will not be eligible to file for citizenship. One thing I don't understand is that folks don't live in Canada, don't pay taxes, and yet would like to avail the benefits?

Well said vault. Time and time again the same question. Get it people. You are not eligible for Canadian citizenship until you stay here for 3 years out of the preceeding 4. or you have been living abroad under to a limited set of conditions defined by the Act. Period. NO questions no ifs no buts.
