Applying before 6 months

Hi - One of my friend applied 6 months before her 5 yrs completion and she said she got her Citiz in 9 months.
Should I also file before 6 months?

If your GC is not based on marriage to USC, you can apply not earlier than 4 years and 9 months. If you do, your application will be denied.

As to your friend, it was either oversight of USCIS officer, or she was eligible after 2 years and 9 months.

Aibolit is absolutely right,
I might add another possibility to what Aibolit thankfully posted, your friend could have mislead you somehow for some reason. Watch out.
do not apply before 4 years and 9 months!!
