Applying advance parole(AP)...questions...please clarify

Hi,
 I have filed my 485 and planning to apply for AP in the local INS (Arlington, VA) shorlty with the filing receipt. I have two questions,
1) In Part 2 Application Type of form I-131, i have checked the box D (I am applying for an AP to allow me to return to US after temporary foreign travel). Is it right ?
2) In Part 7 (complete only if applying for an AP), i checked more than 1 trip. Will i have any problem by doing that ? I checked this to be on the safer side for future travel as well. Normally for how many months/ years this AP document once approved will be valid.

I hope the local INS office will not take months to approve a AP. Please share your thoughts and experience.

Yes U R right and it is valid for 12 months from the date of approval

and they will take around 2 or three months depends on the service center to approve the case. But I am not sure about the local one\'s
