applying 485 when I-140 is still in pending

Can one apply for 485 If he/she already applied I-140 and is in pending status(Provided the 485 priority date is current)?
Please let me know your suggestions or situations that you acrosss similar to this
 
Yes. Be sure to include a copy of your I-140 filing receipt notice with your I-485 package, and be sure mail your I-485 package to NSC.
