Apply to Green Card without company's sponsorship

Hello to everybody,

I have a H1B that will expire in november 2006 and I found out that it can be renewed by my company only for other 3 years. My company cannot sponsor me for the Green card. My wife is expecting a baby this year and she is under H4 visa. We bought a house recently.I have a Master degree from Italy and a Post master from France.

my questions are:

1) There's anyway I can do to apply to a Green Card? What I have to do?
2) The fact that we will be parents of an American Baby and owner of a House could help us toward obtaining a Green Card?
3) Can I apply to a Green Card under a national Interest waiver? my position in the company is an engineer.
4)In the case we can apply for a Green card, this can prevent me to go abroad for work purpose or vacation? The advance parole could be applied to me?
5) I am a Canadian permanent resident, this could help in something?

I will appreciate your answers.

Thanks in advance,

1) Yes. Plenty of people here do it. Please read some of the posts.
2) No
3) Depends on what you do
4) You can use AP
5) No.

I agree with the answers above. The NIW is actually quite difficult.

The simplest solution is to get a job with an employer who will:
a) sponsor a new H-1; and then
b) sponsor your green card

It seems strange that your current employer would not sponsor your green card. If you pay for your own lawyer (or even do it yourself) then the cost to the company is very minimal. If they are happy with your work they should want to sponsor you, if they are not happy then you need to find a new job anyway. :)

buon fortuna

Thanks for the answer,
may you give me examples of postings regarding how to apply without sponsoship of the company?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,
