Apply H1B again??? while waiting I140 and 485

Hi,
I filed my i140 and 485 on March 2004 no response yet mean time I didn't renew my H1B.Now I started worry about because they are processing 2005 and still mine is pending. My question is am I allowed to apply new H1B at this point.I used only 3 year before and then I started to use my EAD card.Is applying new H1b would affect anything?????

I am in similar situation. My lawyer had told me to wait a little longer before filing for renewal of H-1B, as H-1B visas have become more expensive.
