Apply for SSN when I-485 pending

Thanks in advance for any advice or ideas.

Is it possible for H4 to apply for (social security number) SSN when I-485 pending? Because EAD cannot guarantee a job when I-485 pending, so SSN is a prerequisite.

Does anyone have this experience? Please advise or comment.

U won't get until u show physical EAD card to SSA office.
