Apply for citizenship while abroad

I'll complete 4 yrs and 9 months in Dec. I planning to go out side USA in Sept.

Can I prepare the Application and keep it ready and tell friend to mail in Dec while i am out side USA. Will it create a problem , is it legal?

I thinking, Putiing travel dates would be an issue. I cant put Last travel accurately in the application bec it has not ended.
 
It will be illegal as you will have to sign with the date. Postdating your application would be considered fraudulant potentially scuttling your application.
