1.You'll have to wait until 5 years minus 90 days (minus 85 to be on the safe side) after you became a permanent resident.
2. At the very least, passport photos and photocopy of both sides of Green Card
3. Yes, most people do it by themselves, unless they have some criminal record, in which case it is highly encouraged to consult with a good lawyer. Traffic tickets are not considered a serious issue and don't require a lawyer (that's the typical experience in this forum).
4. It seems you still need to wait one more year, so whatever current processing time might not be relevant one year from now. Furthermore, Midwest is too vague. You need to find out which local office you belong to.

Check some of these links to start finding more about all this:

Follow some of the links on the right (on the next link), in particular the guide to naturalization.

Citizenship

Thanks for the reply. The duration days i spent outside US (21 till now). Plan to be out for a week this year. Should i have to cover these period. That is stay total 5 years in USA. Or is it complete 5 years from Getting GC.

Please clarify.

Thanks

5 years since getting your GC. Small trips don't affect the calculation of the 5 years. Trips of more than 6 months can cause problems. In your case it seems clear you are fine with your trips, so if you got your GC in April 15 2005 you'll have to wait until April 15 2010 minus 90 days (85 to be on the safe side). Substitute 15 with your actual date.
