apply citizenship while you are not in USA

i have question ...if i am not in usa..like i am overseas and i b coming on Aug 15..and i can apply my citizenship in july after july 20th... is it fine or possible that my wife mail all the documents..and hopefully wen i come back i will have finger prints date very soon..can we do that ??or i have to b here wen i mail...
 
to be on a safe side i,ll wait once i came back and i,ll send out the documents,u dont know what uscis is capable of doing nowadays
 
For 25 days I would wait. I don't know off the top of my head any big deterrent to do this. However, at time of interview you would have to explain that you need to include the trip for which you are coming back on August 25th. If the IO is on top of his/her game would realize that the application was signed and sent while you were abroad and can lead to more questions. For 25 days I wouldn't risk it. Naturalization processing is speeding up again after last years disaster. You should expect naturalization within six or seven months if everything goes alright and depending in great part on your local office.
