applied in March..no file number yet

Hi,
I have applied for Canadian PR in the month of March 02. I have not received file number yet from Baffallo consulate. I figured my money order has been encashed by consulate but they did not even send me any sort of acknowledgment. Please advise. Any help appreciated.

At last I got file number for my application today. So, they took about 4 months to send me file number for my application. And they also mentioned that it takes about 30 weeks to process my apllication. Thanks.

Did anybody apply in April/2002, and have received the file number?

My application reached Buffalo on April/4/2002 but I have not so far received the file number.
