Hi,
I have a US Green card, and I applied for my wife's green card (she is on H1 visa right now in US) in June this year. I got her priority dates as late June. Online status on USCIS shows it as "Initial Review". I was checking the Visa Bulletin and it shows they are ready to clear 2A cases till 01JUN10. I am curious to know what is the next step in this?
What exactly is the date 01JUN10 in Visa bulletin is?
If my date comes in next months Visa bulletin then what should be my action item?

Any help will be really appreciated.

Thanks
Nishj

The "01JUN10" date is from the November bulletin, which doesn't take effect until November 1st, although it was published in October.

The current bulletin (October 2010) shows 01APR10. That means they are accepting new I-485 applications from people whose priority date is before April 1 of this year, as well as approving existing I-485 applications if their priority date is before April 1 and other processing has been completed (fingerprinting, interview, background check, etc.).

In November when the 2A date moves to June 1, your wife will not eligible to file I-485 yet because her priority date is late June. So you have to hope the December bulletin will move the 2A date past her priority date.

Thanks Jackolantern for replying.
If December bulletin moves the 2A date past her priority date then should I go ahead and apply I-485 or I have to wait for fingerprinting, interview, background check, etc. first and then apply for I-485?
I haven't got call for any of these things yet will these be initiated when I apply I-485 or they are already in process and I have to wait for them to complete.
Sorry, If I am asking stupid questions but I am little confused right now :)
Thanks!!
