applied for sister with her birth certificate name.. not her maiden name.

Hi,
I mistakenly applied for my sister with her birth certificate name instead of her Married name, and now the petition is approved after 13 years. Just received the approval letter. mY sister already has a passport with her (married last Name). she visited the US with that passport. Now is there a way i can correct this or will she be denied at the interview for wrong last name? any ideas would help

There will be no issues regarding using the married name now, she just needs to update that information with NVC if she is doing a CP, if she is adjusting status in US she can do that with USCIS.
 
Is she filing for adjustment of status, or will she interview at a consulate? Either way, if she fills out the forms with her married name and provides the birth certificate and marriage certificate she'll be OK. From the marriage certificate they'll make the connection about her name change.
