Applied for second RP - cancel or not?

As a GC holder I stayed abroad for almost 2 years with a Reentry Permit, then returned to the US for one week in September 2010 before it expired and got a verbal warning at the border. While in the US, I applied for a second RP and was going to come back for a few days in October for biometrics but then decided not to do it because I'm going to move back to the US for good at the beginning of March (less than 6 months since my last departure).

I have just checked the RP application status on the USCIS web site and it says "Acceptance" (the 1st step in the process). It means that I can still, in theory, get fingerprinted and obtain a second RP. However, I don't need it anymore as I intend to move back permanently.

What is the best course of action in my situation? Should I call USCIS and cancel my RP application before entering the US or just enter without contacting USCIS?
Which option would minimize the risk of having my GC revoked due to extended absence?

Just forget about the permit and return to the US in March. Don't draw attention to yourself by asking them to cancel it. You're not going to get the money refunded anyway, and by the time they process your request you'll already be back in the US.

No, it doesn't really mean that. They could have canceled it already, and failed to update the online status. For many people, they don't ever update the online status after initial acceptance, even when the permit is approved.

Just for curiosity. When your re-entry permit is approved and issued (you have it physically) at the first place, can they revoke and cancel it later while you're still abroad? For example just because they want to?

I just wonder whether this happens or whether once you get it, then it's good until expiration date. Thanks

I've never heard of that happening. But I suppose they could do that to somebody who was found to have a criminal record that makes them inadmissible.

Thank you! I was also changing my address in the U.S. while my reentry permit application was pending. So some notifications were lost in old mail and they had to re-send duplicate notices.

Could this possibly result in cancellation?

My RP application has been denied because I didn't show up for fingerprinting. I'm still abroad, coming back to the US soon. I wonder if the decision on my RP application could affect my chances to enter the US without any problems.

Please can somebody help me in this:

1. How long does it take to get biometric appointment after re-entry application?
2.Can I enter for the first time in the US and leave after one month after having applied for the re-entry permit?

Pls can anyone answer me especially the first question,it's urgent please.

Thank you all in advance and any help is highly appreciated

1. It takes a few weeks, maybe about a month, maybe a bit more. It varies. You can ask to expedite your application and probably get your biometrics appointment sooner.
2. I don't see why not. You can even enter for a few days, leave, then enter again to do biometrics, but you need somebody in the US to receive the appointment letter and forward it to you on time. If you can get your biometrics appointment within a month then you can even complete the whole process in one month and then wait for RP abroad to pick it up from your local embassy.

Sorry, I don't know about this one.

It's N-470, not I-470. If your work is not for an American religious organization you won't qualify.
