I am sorry to have this question posted again but i was worried if any one was watching it at all. I applied for canadian PR in september and it received the office at Buffallo on september 21,2004 but until now i did not get AOR(Acknowledgement of Receipt) from them. How do i find the updates of my case. Is there a way to contact them. I shall appreciate if someone can please help me. I was initially told it would normally take 4 weeks to get the AOR but now it is more than 6 weeks and i havent heard anything from them yet. Please help me. Thanks a lot in advance.

I would recommend to take it easy and wait for more if you're sure that they already received your application (it seems like you could track yours w/ the carrier). As many apply, it may delay in the process.

However,I'm not sure whether you can send them a fax to ask about it in this case. In my own experience, they response pretty fast but only via regular mail (even one time, I received email from an officer).

It is been more than 2 months now but i still did not receive AOR from the canadian officials. Is it okay for me to wait for some more time. I am slowly loosing hope. Moreover there is no way i could contact them regarding my case. Can i go ahead and fax them??
If so how exactly should i write to them to seek updates??
I shall appreciate if someone can gimme some ideas. it is really frustrating waiting as i am not sure if they are working on my case at all.

Currently people who applied in August 2004 are getting AOR ( check www.yogi799.com). It is taking on an average 3 months to get AOR so as suggested before hang in there. With the holidays coming the process may be delayed a bit.

As i stated earlier now its been little more than 3 months since i applied for canadian PR. I still did not receive AOR. But based on the comments from others it looks like it is taking close to 4 months now. Is it worth waiting for some more time or is there any way of contacting them. I am getting worried. Can someone please advise.

Finally got AOR on 18 jan, but the data stamped on the letter is 02 Dec.

So i guess there is a long delay in mailing of letters.

Good to know that you got your AOR atlast. I guess you applied in the month of august. Around wut dates in august did you apply. I applied in september and it reached their office on september 21st. Just to figure out how many more days it will take for me to get my AOR. Also do you have any idea about the processing times. How long from now do you think it will take to complete the entire process. Please let me know.

Thanks

I applied i the last week of Aug, i think the mail reached the office on 2nd Sep. But looking at the date stamped on the receipt, looks like the delay is more in the mailing part rather than on receiving part.

You mean to say then i should have got mine by now. My application reached their office on september 21st, 2004 but i did not get my AOR yet. Any thougths???

You should be fine. Just wait for a couple of more weeks.

I got my AOR yesterday. Let us see how many more months it will take for the entire process to complete.

Additional Documents requested from Canadian Consulate..

I applied for canadian PR and i got AOR sometime in January. Now two weeks back i got mail asking me for additional documents on couple of which i am not sure how to address them.
1)Current Immigration Status Where you reside(H1,F1,J1..)
I am on H1B visa and i just applied for 7th year extension. Can i send a copy of the receipt notice of my seventh year H1 copy.

2)Original letters of "no record" or certificates of "good conduct" for me and my wife from INDIA and USA.
I am not sure what type of documents can i provide to address this.
All i have is good conduct certificate when i completed my 10+2.

Can anyone please let me know how i can provide details on these to canadian consulate..

Thanks a lot

Sure you can. I suggest that you write a letter explaining your situation too.

You are required to provide the Police clearance certificate from India and FBI clearance from USA.

Thanks a lot Keeny for your reponse. But how do i get police clearnce certificate from INDIA as i am currently in USA. Is it i can contact Police Department in INDIA directly or should i have to contact High Commision/Embassy if i am not currently residing in the country(this is wut they suggested when canadian consulate sent me a letter). If this is the case whom should i contact and how? I am currently in Austin, Texas so how do i contact Embassy to get police clearnce certificate from INDIA. Please let me know. Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Hi Suresh,

You will have to contact the CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA - HOUSTON to get your Indian PCC ( Police clearance certificate). It usually takes 30 to 45 days to get PCC. You do not have to send your passport to the Indian consulate with the application - a photocopy of the passport will be fine.

Once the consulate gets your clearance from India they will ask you to send your passport which you can mail them. They will then send your PCC to you.

(One of the miscellaneous service provided is Life certificate / Police certificate (Fee $11.00)

Hello Kenny04
I am contacting Indian Embassy for obtaining the police certifcate. Thanks a lot for providing me that information. On another note, I actually applied for PR sometime in september 2004 and got my AOR in January 2005. One month back i got this letter requesting for the additional documents which includes police certificates, medical reports, employment letter, Visa status and Bank Balances etc..I am about to address all of them now along with fee of RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE (RPRF). I am wondering if there will be any further fee that i need to make or am i almost end of processing the application. In the letter, they mentioned i may not have to attend the interview at this time. So can you please let me know if there will be any further steps(fee to be paid) and if not how long more it will take for me to get the PR. Once i get it do i have to immediately go to Canada..Please let me know..

Thanks a lot
